Trinity Chambers has recently been successful with an external review of its Bar Mark accreditation. The independent assessment is carried out by the British Standards Institution (BSI).
Following the launch of Bar Mark in 1999 Trinity Chambers was the fourth nationwide, and the first outside of London, to gain the accreditation. Bar Mark is the Bar Council’s rigorous quality assurance scheme designed to recognise good practice management and administration in barristers chambers. As part of the review the independent assessors look at management responsibility, client care, finance, premises and facilities, personnel and equal opportunities and also pupillage administration and tenancy selection.
The scheme is voluntary and is independently assessed by the British Standards Institution (BSI), with the final decision on awards taken by the Bar Council’s Bar Mark Panel. Currently, the Bar Council’s directory has 35 chambers nationwide listed as holding the Bar Mark accreditation in order awarded.
Trinity Chambers Practice Director, Simon Stewart OBE said of the latest assessment “We are delighted with the results of the review, the outcome highlights the quality of our procedures and practices, essential to the smooth day to day running of Chambers and ensuring optimal client care. To maintain a BSI approved accreditation is reflective of the professionalism of the clerking team, support staff and the members of Chambers.”
