Trinity Criminal and Regulatory barrister, Paul Currer has been appointed to be a Magistrates’ Courts District Judge.
The judicial appointment has been made on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Robert Buckland QC MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.
District Judge Currer will commence sitting on the North Eastern Circuit, based at North Tyneside Magistrates’ Court from 28 January 2020.
Paul was called to the Bar in 2000 from where he joined Trinity Chambers and developed a thriving Crown Court advocacy practice. He was appointed as a Deputy District Judge (Magistrates’ Courts) in 2017.
