Trinity Criminal Barristers Act for Defendants in FCA 'Finfluencer' Prosecution

Trinity Criminal and Regulatory barristers, Jane Foley and Laura Jane Miller have been instructed to represent two defendants in the Financial Conduct Authority's prosecution of nine ‘finfluencers’ or financial influencers.

The allegations relate to  an unauthorised foreign exchange trading scheme promoted on social media. The FCA allege that the defendants used their Instagram accounts to issue unauthorised communications of financial promotions involving the buying and selling contracts for difference (CFDs).

The defendants appeared in person and over video link at Westminster Magistrates Court on 13th June 2024. Each of the accused were released on unconditional bail. The next hearing will take place at Southwark Crown Court on 11th July 2024.
