The King has appointed Thomas Mitchell to be a full time District Judge (Magistrates’ Courts).
The appointment has been made on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Dominic Raab MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.
District Judge Mitchell has been deployed by the Lord Chief Justice to the Northern Circuit, based at Manchester Magistrates’ Court with effect from 1 February 2023.
Called to the Bar (Lincoln’s Inn) in 1995, Thomas was a Grade 4 prosecutor.
