Trinity Criminal Silks' Published Letter to The Times

Head of Chambers, Toby Hedworth Q.C. and Head of Trinity's Criminal group, Caroline Goodwin Q.C. were among 70 leading barristers to sign a letter in the Times in response to the Lord Chief Justice, Lord Burnett of Maldon's suggestion of disciplinary sanctions against members of the Criminal Bar taking industrial action.

Supporting junior members of the Criminal Bar and those considering careers as criminal barristers, the letter comments,
“Our action is about protecting the very professionals The Lord Chief Justice clearly cares about….”

As well as signing the letter, former Chair of the Criminal Bar Association and Crown Court Recorder, Caroline Goodwin Q.C. has appeared on The Times Radio and press advocating ongoing support for Criminal Legal Aid, focusing on the difficulties faced by the junior Bar, in addition to highlighting the ongoing challenges in the Criminal Justice system.
