On the evening of Wednesday 23 October 2019 Trinity Chambers is delighted to be hosting an event in association with Women Lawyers Division North East to celebrate 100 years of Women in Law.
2019 is a significant anniversary for our legal system – 100 years since the Sex Disqualification (Removal) Act 1919 came into force. The Act was the foundation for women in this country to become lawyers for the first time.
To celebrate the occasion, The Women Lawyers Division North East is bringing together the 3 all-female finalists of this Year’s Northern Law Awards Lawyer of the Year Category:
- Shirley Hall, Newcastle Senior Office Partner, Employment, Eversheds Sutherland (International) LLP;
- Alison Hall TEP, Partner, Head of Private Capital Team, Hay & Kilner Solicitors, Past President of the Newcastle upon Tyne Law Society and
- Trinity’s Caroline Goodwin Q.C. Silk at Trinity Chambers, Chair of the Criminal Bar Association and Crown Court Recorder
Drawing on their own experiences, this panel of inspiring speakers will provide their unique perspective on the progression and changes for women in law, what challenges still remain and how the industry will and should combat those challenges.
This free event takes place between 6pm and 8pm at Trinity Chambers, The Custom House, Quayside, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE1 3DE. The talks will conclude with networking and refreshments.
The evening is open to WLD members and non-members, places are limited, so if you wish to attend please email clare.thompson@hay-kilner.co.uk.
Please note that Trinity Chambers does not have any car parking facilities. Please also advise of any access or dietary requirements.
