Trinity Human Rights Barrister acts in Yorkshire Ripper Inquest
Trinity Civil Liberties & Human Rights barrister, Matthew Crowe, acted for the Ministry of Justice in the inquest into the death of Peter Sutcliffe, also known as the “Yorkshire Ripper”.
The inquest examined the final weeks of Peter Sutcliffe’s life, including the care received by Sutcliffe from the Prison, NHS and healthcare teams. The inquest heard from several witnesses including from HMP Frankland, Durham Constabulary and Spectrum Healthcare.
The Coroner found that Peter Sutcliffe died of natural causes, having received good medical care. The Coroner concluded the inquest by saying that his continuing best wishes go out to the families and loved ones of those who fell victim to Sutcliffe and hoped that the victims may better rest in peace now that Sutcliffe was dead.
Matthew was instructed by the Government Legal Department.
