Specialist Immigration and Judicial Review barrister, Marian Cleghorn has been selected to join JUSTICE's Immigration and Asylum Determination Reform Working Party.
The Working Party comprises of immigration and asylum barristers, solicitors, academics, user representatives, retired judges and other experts. The Working Party will look at the determination processes in immigration and asylum cases and how these might be reformed in line with the Government’s Reform Programme including digitisation.
The Working Party will review the existing operation of the Immigration and Asylum Chamber of the First-Tier and Upper Tribunal and is tasked with identifying the key issues, supplying evidence and agreeing recommendations for reform.
The first meeting took place on Tuesday 2nd May with the final report of the Working Party's findings expected at the end of the year.
