Trinity Chambers' Pupil, Laura Nagel won the Louise Godfrey QC Memorial Moot held on 12 September 2013 in Leeds. Laura gained her place in the moot following selection as one of the top four advocates after two days of advocacy training on the North-Eastern Circuit Pupil Advocacy Course,
The moot problem focused on whether a duty of care was owed for the omissions of public services and liability for psychiatric harm. Each of the four competitors were required to submit a skeleton argument, spoke for 20 minutes and answered judicial intervention relating to their submissions. The moot was judged by HHJ Mark Gosnell, HHJ Julian Goose QC and HHJ Roger Kaye QC and attended by members of the North Eastern circuit.
Louise Godfrey QC was one of the founders of HALT: Domestic Violence Help Advice Law Team.
Upon completion of her Pupillage and qualification as a barrister in October 2013 Laura will join Trinity Chambers'Family & Matrimonial Finance, Mental Health & Court of Protection, Personal Injury, Chancery and Business practice groups.
