Trinity Family, Sports and Regulatory barrister, Natasha Andrews, recently delivered a training session as part of the British Showjumping ‘Step Up Your Coaching’ programme held at the National Training Centre in Leicestershire.
British Showjumping is the sport's governing body in Great Britain and formulates the rules and codes of practice under which all affiliated competitions are held. Its purpose is to improve and maintain standards of showjumping, while encouraging members of all standards and at all levels to enjoy fair competition over safe and attractive courses.
Natasha’s session covered ethics and horse safeguarding and is part of a wider programme that aims to support coaches beyond formal qualifications.
Natasha has a keen interest in horses and covers all aspects of equestrian law including breach of contract, professional negligence, regulatory work, tribunal representation, personal injury, and safeguarding. In addition, Natasha has extensive experience representing Local Authorities in safeguarding and abuse cases and has undertaken significant coaching research on safeguarding in sport and supporting coaches to achieve this.
Outside of her busy legal practice, Natasha competes regularly at British Show jumping competitions and is also a UKCC Level 4 coach and equine physiotherapist. Her graduate dissertation has been accepted for presentation at the BSAS Equine Conference in Birmingham later this month.
