Chambers' members and staff warmly congratulate Trinity Sports Law barrister, Richard Stubbs on his appointment as General Appeal Panel Member of The Football Association (FA) Judicial Panel.
The FA is football's governing body in England, taking appropriate action when its Rules and Regulations are breached. Where necessary, this may include commencing formal proceedings heard by either The FA's Independent Regulatory Commission or the Appeal Board, both of which are formed from members of The FA’s Judicial Panel. Members of the Panel are carefully selected and appointed based on their legal, regulatory, or footballing backgrounds and experience. Commencing on 1st July 2025, Richard's Panel appointment lasts three years.
Richard Stubbs' practice covers various sports, ranging from football, rugby and cricket to boxing and show jumping. He is experienced in appearing before regulatory sports bodies in a wide range of arbitrations and regulatory hearings. As well as his recent appointment to the Judicial Panel, Richard is a member of the National County FA Serious Cases Panel, Vice-Chair of Northumberland RFU Disciplinary Panel, RFU's Independent Disciplinary Panel and a member of the British Association for Sport and Law. Richard’s clients have included Premier League, Championship and lower league football clubs, County FAs, Premiership and lower league rugby clubs, County cricket clubs and world title boxers and promoters.
