Trinity Chambers will be represented at Legal Cheek's 'Secrets to Success' Newcastle event taking place on the evening of Thursday 1st February at the Frederick Douglass Centre, University of Newcastle.
The free to attend session is open to students from all universities and is the first in Legal Cheek's 2024 series of in person 'Secrets to Success' events being delivered across the UK. The series is being run in association with The University of Law and aims to help students boost their commercial awareness ahead of vacation schemes and training contract interviews.
Taking place between 4pm to 6:30pm, the event features lawyers from Norton Rose Fulbright, Hill Dickinson, Womble Bond Dickinson and Trinity Chambers.
The speakers will share stories of their career journeys and advise students on how they can best position themselves to obtain training contracts and pupillages with leading law firms and chambers. There will also be a focus on the key commercial awareness topics students need to consider.
Trinity Employment, Business and Property barrister Antoine Tinnion, together with some of Chambers' current pupils, will be contributing. Additional speakers include:
- Rishi Kohli, legal services manager at Norton Rose Fulbright
- Richard Capper, head of banking and finance and training principal at Hill Dickinson
- Matthew Tomlinson, campus dean for ULaw Leeds, Sheffield & Newcastle, and former solicitor specialising in corporate restructuring and insolvency
Following the Question Time-style discussion, which will be chaired by a Legal Cheek journalist, there will be networking with the speakers, current trainees and pupils from the firms and chambers, as well as members of their graduate and pupillage recruitment teams.
