Troy Benjamin Meets the Prime Minister of The Bahamas

Troy Benjamin, a Bahamian born barrister based in the UK, recently had the opportunity to meet with a senior delegation from The Bahamas, including the Prime Minister, The Hon. Philip E. Davis K.C., Governor General of The Bahamas, His Excellency Cornelius A Smith, and newly appointed High Commissioner of The Bahamas to the UK, Mr Paul Gomez.

The Bahamian delegation's UK visit was not only to attend the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III, but also to meet with Bahamians that study and work in the UK as part of The Bahamas' upcoming 50th Independence Celebrations.

At the meeting, Troy and the delegation explored a range of topics including discussions regarding a project with Trinity Chambers to assist in providing further training opportunities for those Bahamians studying Law at various Universities in the UK. Reflecting on Troy's move, there were also discussions with Bahamians currently living and working in the UK and Trinity being able to provide assistance wherever necessary.

Commenting on the meeting, Troy said:
'It was a real honour and privilege to meet the Bahamian delegation and contribute to the forthcoming 50th year of Independence celebrations. Despite the Prime Minister's busy schedule, he and other members of the delegation were keen to learn more about potential partnership opportunities to support the development of Bahamian lawyers.'

To mark the Independence celebrations, Troy presented to the Prime Minister a number 50, 'Bahamas' named Newcastle United top.

Troy is a busy civil practitioner dealing with Business & Property, Employment, Housing, Personal Injury and International work.
