Business & Property Barrister Jonathan Rodger Joins Trinity
Leading specialist Business and Property barrister, Jonathan Rodger has joined Trinity Chambers.
Last year saw a major overhaul of the civil and commercial courts with the launch of regional Business and Property Courts (BPC) in Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester and Cardiff. The BPC consolidates the specialist business and commercial Courts under one umbrella. The recent appointment of His Honour Judge Philip Kramer as a full-time Specialist Civil Circuit Judge means that Newcastle now becomes a regional BPC centre, making the timing of Jonathan's move to Trinity ideal. At the Newcastle BPC launch event held in March, Vice Chancellor Mr Justice Barling made it clear that "no case is too big for Newcastle to hear".
Simon Goldberg, Recorder, barrister, and Head of Trinity Chambers’ Business and Property Group keen to exploit the opportunity that the BPC presents, comments: "I am delighted to welcome Jonathan to Trinity's Business and Property team. He has a well-deserved reputation as one of the region's leading advocates and will be an excellent addition to a team which already boasts strength in depth across all levels of experience. Trinity has for some time been regarded by many as the pre-eminent set for commercial dispute resolution, property and insolvency work in the North East. Jonathan's arrival will, I am sure, consolidate our position at a time when the volume of work in Chambers is increasing significantly as a result of the recent launch of Business and Property Court in Newcastle."
Jonathan is instructed in cases involving commercial, contract and partnership disputes, company litigation including shareholder disputes, directors’ duties and disqualification proceedings, contentious probate and Inheritance Act claims, Insolvency, commercial and residential leasehold disputes, licensing and professional negligence.
Jonathan is regularly recognised in the leading directories, most recently -"Jonathan Rodger pulls no punches. He tells it like it is even if that's not what the client wants to hear, which is ultimately what matters." "He can be relied upon to provide honest, accurate, thorough and practical advice, and is a fantastic advocate who will fight your client's corner to the end." (Chambers & Partners 2018).
