Motor Offence Barrister Represents Newcastle United Footballer


Specialist criminal and motor offence barrister, Christopher Mitford, successfully represented the Newcastle United footballer Davide Santon at Newcastle Magistrates Court at a hearing on 17th May 2013. Italian international, Davide Santon avoided a driving ban in respect of a road traffic speeding offence that took place on the A696 Woolsington bypass between Newcastle and Ponteland on the evening of 3rd December 2012. 

In his career the Trinity barrister has represented a number of professional footballers and has a niche practice in white collar road traffic cases in both the Crown and Magistrates Courts. Christopher deals with all aspects of motor offences including special reasons, section 172 notices and exceptional hardship/ “totting up” cases.

Christopher is a member of Trinity Chambers’ CriminalJudicial ReviewMental Health & Court of Protection and Regulatory practice groups. He is also a qualified CEDR Mediator.
