NYAS & Trinity Join "Voice of the Child" Seminar

On the evening of Thursday 27th March Trinity Chambers will be hosting a joint seminar with NYAS (National Youth Advocacy Service) followed by drinks.

NYAS is the largest independent provider of advocacy services to children in care across England and Wales. NYAS has a team of lawyers representing children in the courts. The charity helps give children a voice on decisions that impact their life.

Director of Legal Services at NYAS, Debbie Singleton, will provide an overview of NYAS’ work and consider the court’s approach to children’s wishes and feelings in private law proceedings where the child has been joined as a party. Debbie will be joined by a young person who has benefited first hand from NYAS' support and who will share their experience.

Alan Inglis, a barrister in Trinity's Family and Child Care team, will be reviewing current case law and procedure relating to the significance of children's wishes in determining private, public and Hague convention applications.

The event will be Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) CPD accredited with 2 CPD points. Registration is at 5.15pm with speakers at 5.30pm, concluding with wine and canapés. Places are restricted, click here to book.
