Regulatory Barristers on Health & Safety & Environmental Panel
Trinity Barristers Ros Scott Bell, Joan Smith and James Kemp have been appointed to the list of specialist Regulatory Advocates in Health and Safety and Environmental law.
Ros, Joan and James will provide advisory and advocacy services in prosecution cases undertaken by the Environment Agency, Health & Safety Executive and Office of Rail Regulation.
The list is due to comprise of around 100 advocates nationwide and replaces the Attorney General’s Unified List of Criminal Advocates phased out earlier in the year.
Appointment to the list reinforces Trinity Chambers’ team of Regulatory Barristers. Barristers in Trinity’s Regulatory Practice Group deal with a wide range of trading standards, health and safety and environmental prosecutions as well as professional disciplinary matters, including police, healthcare and teaching misconduct hearings. The Trinity Regulatory team deal with a significant number of regulatory bodies nationwide including the Department of Work and Pensions, Department for Business Innovation and Skills, HM Revenue and Customs, UK Border Agency, VOSA, DVLA, Civil Aviation Authority, General Medical Council, Nursing and Midwifery Council.
Trinity Barrister, Jamie Anderson, recently delivered a training event to members of the Government Legal Services Northern Lawyers Network which included lawyers from the Health and Safety Executive, Department of Work and Pensions, Crown Prosecution Service and Department for Business Innovation and Skills.
