Alex Littlefair joined Trinity after practising as a solicitor. He specialised in personal injury and clinical negligence at a leading national claimant firm before gaining commercial experience at a shipping law firm in Newcastle.
Alex has experience of both claimant and defendant work, successfully representing both claimants and defendants. Typical cases involve RTAs, accidents or illness abroad and workplace injury.
He has also conducted complex clinical negligence cases, including cases on consent.
Alex has wide experience of contested applications, including applications to set aside default judgment, for interim payments and permission for late amendment to statements of case.
Alex also represents clients at inquests; this includes deaths in hospital and cases arising out of industrial disease.
Alex has experience of working on high value commercial court cases and arbitration matters. This includes advising on jurisdictional disputes. Alex represents clients both bringing and defending debt claims.
Alex has a history degree from Fitzwilliam College Cambridge where he also gained an MPhil. in Historical Studies. He then worked as an MP’s assistant before studying Law at Hull University where he gained a First Class degree, including winning the JL Lee Prize for Common Law. He then undertook the LPC at Northumbria University and was awarded a distinction. Having qualified as a solicitor he gained higher rights of audience at the University of Law.
