Family Law

Public law

Grace is frequently instructed in care proceedings on behalf of the Local Authority and on behalf of parents and the children’s guardian. Grace has been instructed in urgent and interim hearings as well as multi-day finding of fact and final hearings. This has resulted in a growing family practice and Grace becoming a strong trial advocate.

Private Law

Grace is also regularly instructed in private family proceedings and appears before Magistrates, District and Circuit Judges. She has experience of Child Arrangement Orders and often appears in multi-day contested hearings. As a result, Grace has extensive experience of proceedings involving litigants-in-person. Grace has in-depth knowledge of disputes relating to domestic abuse and represents both the applicant and respondent from the urgent interim stage until final hearing.

Matrimonial Finance

Grace accepts instructions in this area of work and is keen to expand on her current experience.

Civil Law

Before joining Chambers, Grace was a county court advocate and was regularly instructed on hearings relating to possession claims, debt enforcement, personal injury and small claims. She frequently conducted insolvency applications, interlocutory hearings and orders for sale. This has resulted in Grace being an experienced and competent advocate in civil proceedings and her civil work has grown in Chambers. Grace continues to welcome instructions in civil proceedings.

Criminal law

Grace has appeared in the Magistrates’ and Crown Court on behalf of both the prosecution and the defence. Her experience extends from first appointment hearings, multi-day trials in the Magistrates’ court to appeals in the Crown Court. Grace has experience in dealing with charges relating to motor offences, including drink and drug driving, offences against the person and private prosecutions on behalf of local authorities.

Disclosure

Grace is regularly instructed on behalf of local police authorities in applications for disclosure from family proceedings.

Prison Law

Grace has a particular interest in prison law and accepts instructions for parole hearings.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Away from the law, Grace regularly attends the gym; where she enjoys weightlifting, circuit training and most recently boxing. She also enjoys to travel and taking on adrenaline activities.
