Louisa comes to the Bar after over a decade as a successful practising dental surgeon. Accordingly, she brings to her work as a junior practitioner a maturity and commercial acumen considerably in excess of her Call in 2018. Combined with this commercial experience is Louisa’s formidable academic pedigree.
Louisa is accredited by ADR-ODR as an international civil-commercial mediator.
Louisa spent the first four months of her pupillage with Andrew Crammond and the remaining eight months under the supervision of Jonathan Rodger. As a tenant, she is already developing a busy junior’s commercial practice. A tenacious advocate, she has had instructions in several road traffic arbitrations, some with a personal injury element; she has acted in bankruptcy and corporate insolvency cases; and she has carried out civil procedure briefs including contested applications for summary judgment, applications to set aside default judgment and contested applications for interim injunctions, heard in both the County Court and the High Court. She has also been involved in commercial small claims, fast track hearings and planning matters.
Louisa is developing a practice in employment law having represented clients (both Claimants and Respondents) in three multi-day employment tribunal hearings and two preliminary hearings.
She has advised and drafted pleadings in commercial disputes, boundary disputes, insolvency cases and also clinical negligence claims.
Born and brought up in the North East, Louisa was educated at Dame Allan’s Schools. In her spare time, she enjoys treading the boards in local theatres, singing, dancing and playing tennis.
