Head of Trinity Barristers' Chambers, Mr Toby Hedworth Q.C. led the Defence team representing David McCabe at a murder trial held at Teesside Crown Court in Middlesbrough.

Following the two week trial, on 22nd January 2015 David McCabe was jailed for five-and-a-five years for burglary at Teresa Ryan's North Ormesby home but was cleared of her murder and manslaughter. Teresa Ryan died from smoke inhalation as a result of a fire at her home on the night of 9 July 2014. David McCabe had been accused of starting the fire deliberately following the burglary.
