Trinity Professional Disciplinary and Misconduct barrister, Steven Reed, successfully presented a case on behalf of Northamptonshire Police against PC Cowie and PC Taylor.
Acting for the Appropriate Authority, Steven presented a case against the 2 officers who faced allegations of Discreditable Conduct. The allegations resulted from their off-duty drunken behaviour, within a McDonalds restaurant. The officers’ criminal convictions, arising from the same incident, had previously been overturned by the Crown Court.
Following a 3-day hearing, the panel found that allegations of the officers acting aggressively, including a finding of assault, and inappropriately were proved. Thereafter, the panel dismissed both the officers from the police service.
